Jin Shin Jyutsu

restore your body's energy flow

What is Jin Shin Jyutsu?
It has been referred to as the non invasive needleless approach to the benefits of acupuncture. Jin Shin Jyutsu does not involve massage, manipulation of muscles or use of drugs or substances. It is a gentle art practiced by placing the fingertips (over clothing) on specific points along the energy meridians in the body to harmonize and restore the body’s energy flow. This balancing method simultaneously affects the physical, mental and emotional well-being of the person being treated.

For those addressing stress or health imbalances or for those who simply wish to maintain harmony and well-being, Jin Shin Jyutsu is a powerful tool.

Jin Shin Jyutsu helps you to:

  • Still your mindJin Shin
  • Calm your body
  • Release distressing attitudes and emotions
  • Regenerate and heal your body
  • Experience inner harmony and well-being

What are the commonly expressed benefits?
Nearly every person who has received a Jin Shin Jyutsu treatment has reported a significant and immediate reduction of physical, mental and emotional stress-tension. Generally speaking, muscles become more relaxed, digestive and eliminative function improves, breathing becomes easier and more regular, blood circulation flows more freely, vertebral blockages interfering with spinal nerve conduction are eased and an inner sense of harmony and well-being comes forth. Many clients achieve a real sense of calm and inner quiet-a feeling they are sometimes having for the first time in their lives.

The degree to which these benefits are noticed by the client are dependent upon the state of the individual’s health and awareness, the frequency of self-help treatments and the degree to which their lifestyle, including diet, exercise, rest, attitudes and daily activities, support their overall wellbeing.

How long does a session last?
A Jin Shin Jyutsu session typically lasts one hour.

When will I begin seeing results?
Most clients express feeling an immediate and deeply noticeable feeling of calm and peace in their body and mind which often lasts for days, if not longer when combined with self-help treatments.

What is self-help?
Besides receiving JSJ treatments from Dawn, clients also learn JSJ ‘self-help’ techniques from Dawn. Selfhelp has been a great source of relief to clients as they
gain the ability to help themselves.

What are the origins of JSJ?
Born of innate wisdom and passed down for generations by word of mouth, Master Jiro Murai revived the art in Japan in 1900. After clearing himself of a life-threatening illness, Master Murai devoted the rest of his life to the research and development of Jin Shin Jyutsu, gathering insight from a range of experiences and resources, including the Kojiki (Record of Ancient Things). A student of Jiro
Murai, Mary Burmeister brought it to the United States in the 1950’s. Ms. Burmeister began teaching the art to others in the early 1960’s and today there are thousands of students throughout the Unites States and around the world.
